Types of cultural architecture: influenced by culture, religion or style 

Japanese architecture

This type of architecture dates back to several years before Christ. Its defining features include: a building slightly elevated off the ground covered by a large tiled roof. The inside of the house have fusuma (sliding canvas doors) instead of immobile walls which offers the possibility to rearrange the layout of the rooms for different occasions. In these homes the people sit on floor cushions instead of chairs. Another defining feature are the very large square rooves that are slightly curved upwards. This last feature is also present in many other different Asian architecture. 

Islamic architecture​

This type of architecture was and still is very influenced by the Islamic religion. It is composed of 4 different types of architectural styles: 1) the Mosque, 2) the tomb, 3) the palace and 4) the fort. However, despite their names these types of architecture styles can be used for fountains, houses and public buildings. The defining features of Islamic architecture include its decorative pantings found on walls or ceilings named arabesque, the large dome rooves named cupolas and its tall spire-like towers named minaret; all found in Mosque and ancient forts. 

Modern architecture 
This type of architecture surfaced in the 20th century and, unlike most contemporary architectural designs which are filled with detail and color, modern architecture is very simplistic in nature and based on function and practicality rather than simply its looks. This style of architecture can be found all over the world, for example: along the Californian coast, on the South shore of France and Spain, the West coast of Canada and the United States.  Whether this architectural style is an improvement can be debatable. In my opinion, I prefer the modern buildings to the more contemporary ones.  I present why
